Bring out the kids for a fun time on April 19 as Emerald Isles will be the host of an Easter egg hunt at 4716 Haverhill!

New Master Plan for Detroit Taking Shape, and We Are the Ones to Shape It
This month the city begins drilling down on four different policy areas. Public in-person meetings are being held at the Joseph Walker Williams Community Center at 8431 Rosa Parks Blvd. Each meeting is expected to last about two hours.


Measles is Back and Could Affect a Child Near You
For a variety of preventable reasons, measles is coming back with a vengeance in some parts of the country, and it’s only a matter of time before it comes for Detroit’s children if our vaccination rates don’t improve.

Share the Warmth was born from a concern after Twiana Odom just happened to see a child walking outside without proper clothing in the deep winter months.

One of the brightest and best students at East English Village Preparatory Academy at Finney is 12th grade scholar Maressa Rich.

New Habitat Homes Coming to Lakepointe
Over the years Habitat has built and rehabbed over 150 homes in the area, and their work continues today. Much of the organization’s work in Morningside can be seen on Lakepointe.

Morningside Dazzles During 2024 Holiday Lights Contest
Morningside's 4th annual Holiday Lights Contest brought a dazzling display of festive cheer to the neighborhood this winter. Homes, businesses, and entire blocks transformed into winter wonderlands, resulting in over 30 nominations for our contest – many receiving multiple entries!
